(Cedar Rapids, Iowa) -- A Linn County Sheriff's Deputy who was shot in the line of duty will receive a $10,000 grant.

Deputy William Halverson was shot multiple times responding to an armed robbery at a gas station in Coggon last month, leading to a 14 hour manhunt before the suspect was arrested. The Running 4 Heroes organization awards a grant each month to an injured first responder across the country, and this month, the organization selected Halverson.

A representative from Running 4 Heroes will present the grant to Halverson later this month.
