(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A 15-year-old girl's been found shot to death in a car in Cedar Rapids. Police got a report of a single-vehicle accident at the Hawthorne Hills Apartment Complex in the 22-hundred block of C Street S.W. Officers found the vehicle with extensive damage and the body of a 15-year-old girl in the driver's seat, who had what appeared to be a gunshot wound. An autopsy is planned with the State Medical Examiner's Office.
Police say the shooting appears to be a targeted incident. No suspects have been arrested at this time. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
