Iowa National Guard soldiers return home

(Des Moines, IA) -- The first of three returning groups of Iowa National Guard soldiers arrived today (Thursday) to the Des Moines International airport. Approximately 100 soldiers from Troop B and Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Squadron, 113th Cavalry Regiment arrived this afternoon.

Approximately 100 soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Troop and Troop B, 1st Squadron, 113th Cavalry Regiment are expected to return to the Sioux City Airport Friday, afternoon July 23rd.

Approximately 100 soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division will return to the Des Moines International Airport Saturday, July 24th.

Nearly 360 soldiers were deployed to Kosovo in 2020 to support a NATO security mission. Nearly 400 soldiers and airmen continue to serve in global missions.
