Cedar Rapids Police seek suspect in weekend homicide

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids police are looking for a man accused of killing a man last weekend. Nestor Lagunes Dominguez is accused of shooting Jose Florentino Ramirez Landin. Police found Landin's body in the 4000 block of 21st Avenue SW Saturday.

Witnesses tell police they been cooking out with the victim (Landin) when the defendant (Dominguez) arrived in a vehicle with another subject. After a short visit, Landin walked away from the group between the two garages and the defendant followed.

The witnesses reported hearing several gunshots and saw defendant return and state “it’s done, let’s go” as he placed a handgun into his waistband. Police had earlier responded to a complaint from the defendant where he stated a subject he knew had punctured a tire on his vehicle.

Warrants have been issued for Murder in the First Degree and Going Armed with Intent. The current whereabouts of Dominguez are unknown. The Police Department has entered the warrants for Dominguez into the National Crime Information Center database for full extradition. Dominguez is approximately 5 feet, 7 inches in height and weighs about 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Anyone who knows of his location is asked to contact local law enforcement. Dominguez should be considered armed and dangerous.
