(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa lawmakers are getting the first look of a re-worked legislative and congressional districts. The non-partisan Legislative Services Agency, which is tasked by Iowa law with drafting the map based on the latest U-S Census figures.
A panel will hold three public hearings to gather public comment on Sept. 20th, 21st, and 22nd. The commission will use information gathered in those sessions for a legislative report.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has scheduled a special session for October 5th to allow lawmakers to vote on the proposed redistricting.
