Concerns Over New Iowa Political Maps Being Considered

(Undated) -- Iowa lawmakers will consider new political maps next month and there are several proposed changes.

One big change involves redistricting for the Iowa House and Senate.

The proposed new maps would consolidate several districts, meaning several current state lawmakers would have to run for one seat.

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate tells WHO-TV lawmakers will likely look at the fairness of that item during next month's special session.

In the meantime, the Iowa Temporary Redistricting Advisory Committee is holding virtual meetings for members of the public to give input.
