Over $240K raised during Des Moines' Walk to End Alzheimer's

(Des Moines, IA) -- Over 700 people walked at the Iowa State Capital Saturday morning to raise money for Alzheimer's research, care, and support across Iowa. The Des Moines 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer's has raised nearly $250,000, about 60-percent towards their goal.

Walk to End Alzheimer's reports more than 6 million Americans are currently living with the disease, costing the United States $355 billion annually. In Iowa, more than 66,000 people live with Alzheimer's.

The Alzheimer's Association is continuing to fundraise online.
