(Benton County, IA) -- The Benton County Sheriff's Office is asking property owners to keep an eye out for suspicious activity, after recent arson cases.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office says early this (Tuesday) morning, authorities responded to a report of round hay bales on fire at a farm south east of Van Horne.
Investigators say hay bales had been intentionally set on fire. The Van Horne and Newhall Fire Departments put out the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings and fields.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office says it is the third case in which hay bales have been intentionally set on fire in the Van Horne area in within the last year.
