(Grimes, Iowa) -- The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says milky gray water in Little Beaver Creek can be traced to the wastewater treatment plant in Grimes.

The DNR says it received complaints about the smelly, cloudy water Tuesday and found that inadequately treated water and low streamflow caused the problem. The DNR says children and pets should stay away from the water until conditions improve.
