More drought in Iowa after another dry week

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Another dry week across Iowa sees a further expansion of drought conditions.

This week's National Drought Monitor map shows more severe drought in Central and Eastern Iowa--including Ames, Cedar Rapids, and much of the Quad Cities area.

Moderate and near-drought conditions have also expanded in Southern Iowa.

The effects of any rain that falls across Iowa through the weekend will show up on next week's map.
