Iowa Redistricting-Round Two- Scheduled For Late October

(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has scheduled a special legislative session for October 28th. Lawmakers will meet at the Capitol to look at new political maps drawn by the non-partisan Legislative Services Agency. It's the second attempt, after the LSA's first set of new maps failed to win lawmakers' approval. Democrats in the Iowa Senate voted in favor of the first maps created, but Senate Republicans voted against, sending the matter back to the LSA to come up with a new set of maps. Iowa is in the midst of the redistricting process prompted by new U-S Census data.
