Man Dies After Being Shot By Davenport Police Officer

(Davenport, IA) -- An investigation is underway after an officer-involved shooting, that resulted in a man's death. Davenport Police were called to the intersection of 8th and Iowa Streets, yesterday (Wednesday) after 3:30, after a report of a man walking around the neighborhood with a handgun pointed at his head.

Officers tried to deescalate the situation, but the man refused to comply and fired two less-lethal rounds. One officer discharged his firearm, hitting the man in the mid-torso. The man was taken to Genesis East Hospital, where he died.

The man who died has been identified as 37-year-old Bobby Klum of Scott County.

An autopsy is pending.
