(Omaha, NE) -- Theresa Thibodeau is entering the race to run for Governor of Nebraska.

Thibodeau was announced as the running mate for Charles Herbster, but stepped down in July.

Thibodeau is re-entering the ring with the possibility of facing Nebraska State Sen. Carol Blood, the only Democrat to date to announce a bid for the office. Two women have not faced off for the governor's seat since 1986.

The Nebraska primary is set for May 10th.
