Teachers Speaking With Iowa Lawmakers About Staffing Shortages

(Marion, IA) -- State lawmakers are talking with teachers and superintendents around Iowa about staffing shortages.

"The fight for quality people has never been higher," says Linn-Mar Superintendent Shannon Bisgard. "The last thing we want to do is poach from each other or create issues that way, but that's happening."

He says this is a statewide issue. Some teachers hope new legislation can be written to help fill those open jobs.
