(Ames, IA) -- During the Iowa State Dairy Association annual meeting in Ames on Thursday morning, Governor Kim Reynolds discussed plans to address worker shortages in industries such as dairy.

Governor Reynolds says legislation she hopes to pass next session will combat workforce shortages in all sectors in Iowa.

Dairy is a $6 billion industry in Iowa that employees more than 16,000 people.

Reynolds talked to producers in varying sectors about supply chain issues and barriers to export products around the world.
