(Davenport, IA) -- The Davenport City Council unanimously rejects construction of a new juvenile detention center. The city was considering allowing a new detention center to be built near West 4th Street and Warren Street, but on Wednesday night every Davenport City Council member voted against the plan. The decision means Scott County can't build a new detention center in Davenport, but it could still be built somewhere else. It could even be built in Davenport if the county and city can come to a future agreement.
