(Saunders Co., NE) -- The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office says the weather is to blame for a recent deadly crash in eastern Nebraska. The sheriff’s office says 46-year-old Hector Martinez-Mezquita and 26-year-old Fransisco Alfaro lost control of their car and were hit by a pickup truck near Highway 77 and County Road P just north of Mead Saturday morning. The sheriff's office says the victims lost control because of ice and snow on the road. They died at the scene and two people in the truck were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
