An Unusual Weather Forecast For "Santa's Big Scene"

The National Weather Service forecasts quite mild conditions the rest of this week leading up to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with daytime highs well above normal.

In fact, NWS says temperatures could be near record highs on Christmas Eve.

Normal highs are in the mid 30's;

Other than a small chance of snow near the Nebraska-South Dakota border Friday night, the forecast is looking mostly dry.

Colder, December-like Holiday Season weather does return for next week.

WOWT 6 News Senior Chief Meteorologist Rusty Lord says some colder air may be in place by the end of next week leading into the New Year.

Highs in the 20's look very likely to round out the year.
