Omaha city officials are asking the public to recycle responsibly after the holidays.

The City of Omaha has set up curbside recycling carts and recycling centers to dispose Christmas present containers and wrappings.

City officials are reminding residents that not all post-Christmas wastes can be recycled.

“If its just paper that can be recycled, now if its got glitter on it or some of the foil or flocking those are going to be considered contaminants," says Jim Kee, the Quality Control Manager for the City of Omaha.

Kee tells 6 News the city also has Christmas tree dump sites open until January 11th.
