(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union will sanction girls wrestling for the 2022-23 school year.
The I-G-H-S-A-U's Board of Directors announced the decision Saturday.
I-G-H-S-A-U said it will follow the wrestling rules and guidelines of the National Federation of State High School Association.
58 schools in Iowa have committed to sponsoring girls wrestling programs.
