Sandhill Cranes Arriving Earlier Than Usual

Sandhill Cranes are making their famed annual migration through Nebraska early this year, with more than 27-thousand cranes counted in the Central Platte River Valley last week.

The "Crane Count" also reports more than 23-thousand geese, a number that is also higher than usual.

The numbers are some of the highest this early in more than 20 years, likely because of the warmer than normal temperatures.
