(Iowa City, IA) -- Iowa City's face mask mandate is being lifted. The city says starting Tuesday the civil emergency declaration will be lifted and masks will no longer be required inside city buildings. The city says this is possible because coronavirus numbers are going down. Mask mandates have also been lifted in nearby Coralville and North Liberty. The CDC says coronavirus transmission is "medium" in Johnson County. A county-by-county list of community coronavirus transmission is available at CDC.gov.
