Davenport Man Charged With First-Degree Murder In Gas Station Shooting

(Davenport, IA) -- A Davenport man's charged with murder in connection with a recent shooting. Twenty-three-year-old Demetrius Howard Jr. is accused of shooting a man during a fight at the GD Xpress at 4607 North Pine Street Monday night. Police say Howard was caught on surveillance video chasing the victim out of the gas station and shooting him. He's charged with first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm and has been denied bond. Howard also has five previous felony convictions including robbery, domestic battery, two counts of domestic abuse, and resisting an officer.
