Two Mason City Men Charged with Attempted ATM Theft, Multiple Burglaries

(Dike, Iowa) -- Two northern Iowa men are in custody, accused of committing a string of crimes.

The Grundy County Sheriff's Office says Ryan Marek (pictured left) and Brandon Hufstedler (pictured right), both of Mason City, are charged with trying to remove ATMs at Fidelity Bank and Peoples Savings Bank in Dike, Iowa. They're also charged with two break-ins, one at Delta McKenzie Targets in Dike and another at the Reinbeck Memorial Building. They're also facing charges, accused of stealing a city maintenance truck. Investigators say the attempted ATM thefts happened in January of this year.

Both men are charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, operating without owner's consent, third-degree attempted burglary, and possession of burglary tools.
