Today at noon Governor Kim Reynolds will sign the bill to restrict transgender girls from playing in girls sports in Iowa. The Governor revealed exclusively on my show that she will make this Bill law and it will take effect immediately.

House File 2416 is about all school levels, including colleges, both public and private. Non-affiliated club teams with no connections to school districts or universities are not included.

The Republican argument is one of fairness, pointing out that biological males have an unfair advantage over biological females when it comes to sports. “Trans girls are boys, not girls. Trans women are men, not women,” Sioux Center State Senator Jeff Taylor said. “Two plus two does not equal five and will never equal five.”

The Democrats are not in favor of this Bill. “Trans kids they just want an opportunity to play sports for the same reason that other kids want to; they just want to be a part of a team where they belong,” said State Senator Pam Jochum (D) from Dubuque.

I have been very clear about my own opinions when it comes to this, but what do you think?

Do you support the Bill that bans biological males from taking part in girls school sports in Iowa?
