Is it time for the United States to get involved in Ukraine war?

UKRAINE-RUSSIA-CONFLICT

The headlines this morning are very disturbing.

'Russia captures nuclear plant' - CBS

'Families run for cover as air strikes hit Chernihiv' - BBC

'Russians seize nuclear plant' - New York Times

'Zelensky begs the world for help' - Fox News

I could just copy headlines for today's blog and fill this column, but the reality is Russia's WWII-style invasion of Ukraine is clearly not going to be limited to Ukraine if this goes on much longer.

"The biggest nuclear power plant in Europe is on fire right now," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, according to a translation of his remarks. "Russian tanks are shooting at the nuclear blocks. These are tanks equipped with thermal imagers, so they know what they are shooting at. For the first time ever in our history, in the history of humankind, the terrorist country has reverted to nuclear terror," Zelensky added. "Russian propaganda had warned in the past to cover the world in nuclear ash. Now this isn’t just a warning, this is real."

Our friend Gordie has told me this morning that Russia is advancing on another nuke plant as well.

Is this now out of hand? Is it time for the United States to get involved in Ukraine war?
