Mammoth Tooth Fossil Found In Northwest Iowa

(Sheldon, IA) -- An 11-pound mammoth tooth has been found in Sheldon in northwest Iowa. DGR Engineering’s Justin Blauwet found the tooth working on a property owned by Northwest Iowa Community College. DGR says Blauwet said he was able to identify the fossil because of his kids' interest in dinosaurs. Northwest Iowa Community College says it will display the tooth at the Sheldon Prairie Museum.
