F Street Traffic Crash Victims Remembered

A vigil was held Sunday evening at the location where two Gretna women were killed in a traffic crash late last week.

37- year old Sara Zimmerman and 38-year old Amanda Schook were killed when their vehicle was hit by a pickup at 192nd and F Streets on Thursday.

Amanda Schook was a speech therapist at Brookstone Village;

"She loved her residents, she loved doing speech therapy and I’ve said this multiple times, and we keep talking about it, the first thing she would talk about Monday morning was her family, her kids were deeply loved,” co- worker Paige Burbach told 6 News.

Sara Zimmerman, a 15-year employee at Douglas County Corrections, was 8 months pregnant.

“Sara never said no to anyone as far as giving them a chance,” former coworker Whitney Johnson said. “Her goal in life was to go to work and do her best everyday, and make sure that each of her clients got her attention, and got the best opportunity possible to reach their goals.”

Police say 21-year old year old Zachary Pauleson was driving the truck.

He is being treated for serious injuries.

Accident investigators say speed and alcohol may have been factors.
