(Des Moines, Iowa) -- A Des Moines teen charged in the fatal shooting at East High School last month is being moved an adult jail.

The state filed a motion to move 17 year-old Octavio Lopez Sanchez, Jr. after multiple incidents during his detention in a juvenile facility. District Judge Coleman McAllister ruled to move Lopez Sanchez citing safety concerns, and the ruling indicated he'd be moved to a rural adult jail. Lopez Sanchez reportedly shoved another juvenile and flashed gang signs inside the facility where rival gang members were also being held.

Lopez Sanchez is one of ten defendants facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder in the March 7th shooting that killed 15 year-old Jose David Lopez and left Kemery Ortega and Jessica Lopez seriously hurt.
