(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa man serving a 25-year year prison sentence for scamming the lottery is having his parole revoked.

59-year-old Eddie Tipton was scheduled to be released nearly 20 years early for good behavior, but will stay in prison after getting into trouble before his release.

The Iowa Department of Corrections is yet to announce the actions leading to Tipton's parole being rescinded.

Tipton is serving his sentence due to ongoing criminal conduct, including rigging computers to steal approximately $2.2 million from lotteries in Colorado, Wisconsin, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

Court documents indicate a majority of the money stolen is yet to be returned. Tipton claims the stolen winnings were dispersed among his associates, with $351,000 staying in his possession.

Another lawsuit is in the works related to the lottery scammer, but this time with Tipton on the side of the prosecution.

A trial is set for August 17th for a lawsuit filed by Tipton, stating he was coerced to plead guilty. The lawsuit also claims he is being charged for restitution with no reasoning.
