(Grimes, IA) -- The planned sports complex in Grimes is another step closer to construction. Earlier this week the Grimes City Council voted to accept the land donation from Hope Development along with a $12-million monetary donation. That money and the land will be used to build the GrimesPlex, which will include sports fields and an entertainment district featuring houses, hotels, and restaurants. The total price tag is around $19.5-million and the project should be done in about 1.5 years.
