(Ames, IA) -- Global supply chain issues are sort of a mixed bag right now. Iowa State University Supply Chain Management Professor Scott Grawe says product supplies vary by industry, some have been able to get products on shelves, while others are still encountering delays.

Grawe says when Shanghai's port is closed, there is a ripple effect that is felt throughout the world. He also notes the war in Ukraine is also complicating matters. "We get a lot of product that flows thru Shanghai, it's one of the largest, most active ports in the world, and when they're shutdown, everybody feels it," said Grawe.

Analysts worry that China's zero-tolerance policies for coronavirus, which have led to lockdowns and factory closures will ignite another wave of logistical problems for the global economy.
