Trial Dates Set For 5 of 10 Teens Accused In Deadly Des Moines Shooting

(Des Moines, IA) -- Trial dates are set for five of the ten teens charged in a deadly Des Moines shooting. The teens are accused of shooting and killing 15-year-old Jose Lopez, outside Des Moines East High School March 7th. Police say the ten teens opened fire from three vehicles, targeting Lopez. Two East High students were injured in the shooting. WHO 13 reports a First Degree Murder trial is set for June 27th for Romeo Perdomo, Octavio Lopez Sanchez Jr., Henry Valladares Amaya, Manuel Buezo and Daniel Hernandez all pled not guilty as part of written arraignments.

Three other suspects in the shooting – Gumaro Marquez-Jacobo, Braulio Hernandez-Salas and Kevin Isidro Martinez – had their scheduled arraignment continued to May 13th. Two more teens are charged with Jose David Lopez’ murder as well. The cases against Alex Perdomo and Nyang Chamdual are being challenged in juvenile court system.
