Shovels Seemingly In Order After Omaha Area Hailstorm

Damage and insurance assessment will be on tap today for some residents in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area after strong thunderstorms brought hail through southeast Nebraska into southwest Iowa Tuesday evening.

One hail storm hit along a corridor from the central to southern parts of the Omaha/CB Metro area with heavy rains, urban flooding and an eerie fog above the hailstones.

There were also tornado threats.

With the heavy rains, streets in the area flooded, 50th and Valley in Omaha as an example.

45th Street in Omaha near Marcy St. looked like a tributary pouring water onto Leavenworth which with the hail, looked like the ice-filled Missouri River in Winter.
