Names Released In Fatal Northwest Omaha Traffic Crash

Omaha Police Accident Investigators say one person dies and two others suffer non-life threatening injuries in a two vehicle crash Thursday evening at 72nd and Military Avenue.

Police say a Ford Ranger was northbound on 72nd, attempting to turn westbound onto Military, when it was hit by a southbound Chevy Camaro, which turned over, hitting a metal power pole and the support for the overhead traffic signals.

Investigators say the driver of the Camaro, 20 year old Larry D. Bonner III of Omaha, died from his injuries after arriving at a hospital.

Police say a passenger in the Camaro, 19-year old Sirr London Bonner, a brother of the driver who died, and the driver of the other vehicle, 18-year old Dora Ziranda-Morales, are being treated for injuries not considered life-threatening.

The 72nd St and Military Ave. intersection had several lane closures while officers investigated.

The street was completely reopened early Friday morning.
