(Undated) -- Iowa U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley is among the latest Americans to be banned from traveling to Russia.

The Russian Foreign Ministry adds Grassley, the First Lady Jill Biden, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and more to the nearly 1,000 person list. Grassley tweeted Tuesday morning he considers the ban a "badge of honor", saying he had no plans to travel to the country anytime soon.

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst was among the 963 politicians, business owners, and celebrities banned back in May.

"I consider getting sanctioned by an autocratic, murderous thug a pretty clear sign that I’m doing something right," said Ernst. "Vladimir Putin’s lawless, unprovoked, and horrific war on Ukraine will be remembered by history as a despicable and unforgiving act."
