(Grimes, IA) -- Kids in Grimes will get to enjoy a new water park next summer. The city will begin construction of a new splash pad at Waterworks Park next week. The city says the park will feature enhanced and interactive water features. It will also use recycled water and have a new playground with natural play areas. There will be new restrooms attached to an open-air shelter too. A ground-breaking ceremony is Monday, June 18th at 1:30 P.M. The park is expected to be completed in June of 2023.
