(Des Moines, IA) -- A former Grimes man has been sentenced to 27-years in prison on child porn charges. Investigators got cyber tips about a Google account associated with 38 year-old Chase Duncan which contained suspected child porn. Des Moines Police detectives got a search warrant, found more evidence, and arrested Duncan. A forensic exam of devices belonging to Duncan revealed hundreds of images and videos depicting child pornography downloaded from the internet.

Police also found a camera Duncan put in a bathroom of a Des Moines area hotel guestroom, used by Duncan and two middle-school aged girls in 2021.

Duncan pleaded guilty in March of 2022 to the charges. He'll be on supervised release for ten years after completing his prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.
