(Lincoln, NE) -- Lincoln Police say one of their officers got tired while on duty, and hit another vehicle.
LPD says around 3:00 Thursday morning, a Lincoln Police Officer in a marked cruiser was southbound on NW 48th Street between West Benton and West Seward Street when his vehicle crossed the center line and side-swiped a northbound Toyota Tundra pickup. Police say the officer noticed he was getting tired and was looking for a place to park when the crash happened.
Damage to the cruiser is estimated at $20,000, while damage to the Toyota Tundra is roughly $18,000. Investigators say the officer sustained minor abrasions due to airbag deployment, the other driver complained of neck pain. Neither required medical attention.
