Lincoln Police Investigate Homicide And Assault Cases

Lincoln Police search for a person they say was known to the victim of a homicide.

They say officers were called to West Fairfield Street in north Lincoln Tuesday night for a stabbing and discovered a 36-year-old Lincoln woman with serious injuries.

Police say she was taken to a hospital where she died from her injuries.

Police in the Capital City are also investigating a shooting that happened in the area of 22nd and Dudley Street.

Investigators say an officer was driving in the area when an 18 year-old Lincoln man ran up to his cruiser saying he had been shot shot.

Then, a 19-year old Lincoln man ran out from a nearby house saying he also had a gunshot wound;

Both were taken to a hospital, the 18-year-old with life threatening injuries, and the 19-year old with non-life threatening injuries.

Police now search for a 19-year old Lincoln man in connection with the shootings.

They say he is known to both victims.
