(Iowa) -- Prices of many items are on the rise, but the cost of heating your home during the upcoming cold months might not be one.

MidAmerican Energy's Geoff Greenwood says,

"We expect that over the course of the winter heating season, we don't see an increase in your energy bills as compared to what they were last winter, so that's good news for our customers."

Greenwood says while the price of natural gas has been volatile and did rise over the summer, it's been steadily declining over the last 8 weeks.
