(Des Moines, IA) -- A hearing takes place this afternoon to look at Iowa's fetal heartbeat bill. In 2018 the state passed a law banning abortions at six weeks after conception, that's when the fetal heartbeat is usually detected. However a Polk County judge later put an injunction on the law. Now Governor Kim Reynolds says the injunction should be lifted because of a recent Iowa Supreme Court ruling, but groups like Planned Parenthood and the ACLU want to keep it in place. Today the injunction will be looked at at the Polk County Courthouse. The meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
