Hy-Vee launches Homefront Initiative for veterans, active-duty military

(West Des Moines, IA) -- A grocery store chain is launching a military campaign to honor and support the nation's veterans and active-duty military members.

Every November, the Hy-Vee Homefront initiative features:

  • Hy-Vee Homefront Round Up: Hy-Vee's annual fundraiser teams up with customers to raise money for Hope for the Warriors, Operation First Response, American Red Cross, and the Puppy Jake Foundation. The fundraiser goes through November 13th at all Hy-Vee and Dollar Fresh Market stores. Hy-Vee matches all customer donations up to $100,000, and Coca-Cola is matching donations up to $50,000.
  • Veterans Day Dine-In Breakfast: On November 11th, Hy-Vee will offer a free, buffet-style breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. to veterans and active-duty military members at Hy-Vee locations, and free donuts and coffee will be offered at all Dollar Fresh Market locations.
  • Hiring Heroes: Hy-Vee's recruiting initiative that looks to hire veterans and active-duty military at Hy-Vee and Dollar Fresh Market stores.

Veterans and active-duty military members can get 15% off their grocery purchases on Veterans Day on in-person, Hy-Vee Aisles Online, or Dollar Fresh Market orders, using the promo code HOMEFRONT15.
