Millions Approved for Iowa, Iowa State, UNI Projects

(Undated) -- The Iowa Board of Regents has approved millions of dollars in renovations for the University of Iowa, Iowa State, and the University of Northern Iowa.

The University of Iowa had asked for the Regents' approval for:

  1. $5.6 million to renovate elevators serving 8 floors at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics
  2. $4.7 million for ongoing renovations at Burge Residence Hall, which was built in 1957
  3. $5.8 million to install artificial turf at the west recreation fields
  4. $8 million for UIUC's south wing, in-patient conversion project
  5. $2.3 million for UIHC parking ramp improvements at the south end of the complex.

The Regents approved $2.25 million to remodel parts of Iowa State University's Memorial Union and $14 million to remodel and expand the Gallager Bluedorn Performing Arts Center at the University of Northern Iowa.
