Nebraska State Patrol Identifies Victims of Plane Crash Near Maxwell

(Maxwell, NE) -- Two people killed in a central Nebraska plane crash are identified.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the crash was reported around 9:30 Wednesday morning near Maxwell, just east of North Platte. The state patrol says the two occupants in the plane are believed to be 41 year old Adam Helmerichs, of Lincoln, and 22 year old Zachary Clausen, also of Lincoln. The NSP says next of kin have been notified and both families confirmed that the two were traveling together. Investigators say Helmerichs was the pilot.

The state patrol says final positive identification is pending additional investigation. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
