(Undated) -- A new study shows Iowa is in the top half of the most overweight and obese states in America. WalletHub says Iowa is the 16th-most overweight and obese U.S. state, ranking 15th for obesity and overweight prevalence and 19th for health consequences. The study looks at the numbers of obese and overweight people per 100,000, the sugary beverage consumption rate, and obesity-related health care costs. WalletHub says the most overweight and obese state is West Virginia and the least is Colorado. A full list of states is available here.
