Iowa's Joni Ernst To Chair GOP Senate Policy Committee

(Undated) -- U-S Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa has been unanimously elected chair of the Senate Republican Policy Committee. She's been vice chair for the past four years. The committee is responsible for sharing the party's positions on legislation, floor debate, and votes.

Following today’s leadership elections, Ernst thanked her colleagues and outlined her optimistic vision for the RPC and the Senate Republican Conference.

“It’s been an honor to serve as vice chair of our conference the last four years,” said Ernst. “I’m extremely humbled by the confidence and support of my colleagues to serve as chair of the Republican Policy Committee, and I’m excited to help lead our Senate Republican Conference.”

Ernst takes over from the previous Chairman, Senator Roy Blunt of Missouri.
