(Mason City, IA) -- The house fire that killed four children and injured another child and the children's father in Mason City was caused by an overloaded power strip, according to Mason City Fire Chief Erik Bullinger.

The four boys killed in the fire are identified as John Michael Mcluer, 12; Odin Thor Mcluer, 10; Drako Mcluer, 6; and Phenix Mcluer, 3.

The children's father 55-year-old John McCluer and 11-year-old daughter Raven survived, but have burns and are in the hospital.

A friend set up a GoFundMe account for the family, who lost the house and all of their belongings in the fire. 29-thousand dollars has been raised overnight. The mother is also asking for prayers.
