Teen Charged In East High Shooting Being Sentenced This Afternoon

(Des Moines, IA) -- One of the teens that pleaded guilty in connection with the deadly shooting outside East High School in Des Moines will be sentenced this afternoon. Earlier this year 16-year-old Kevin Martinez took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to two counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon. He was originally charged with 1st-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. Martinez will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Nine other people are facing charges in connection with the case. Three of them have taken plea deals.
