Teenager Sentenced To Decades In Prison In Westroads Mall Murder

(Omaha, NE) -- A teenager will spend decades in prison in connection with a deadly shooting at Westroads Mall in Omaha. On Monday 17-year-old Makhi Woolridge-Jones was sentenced to 35-55 years in prison in connection with the April 2021 murder of 21-year-old Trequez Swift. Woolridge-Jones, then 16-years-old, is accused of killing Swift during an argument at the mall. A man that was with Swift during the shooting shot back at Woolridge-Jones but missed. He's been sentenced to 13-17 years in prison.
